Verified issues 1/2 in 2238, however, it reveals another serious issue:

3) When the user attempts to edit a view via Tools > Options > Collections Options > Sub-nodes & Views tab > CollectionName > ViewName --> the correct view isn't shown! e.g.

1 Go to Home > Music > Albums [List]
2 In Manage Views set the first column for 'List' as 'Album'
--> View updates as expected
3 Navigate to Tools > Options > Collections Options > Music > Sub-nodes & Views tab > Albums > List
--> The displayed settings don't match those of Step 2!!

Tested 2239 and although following the exact steps in 3) works, the reverse doesn't. i.e. view settings made via the Options panel don't take effect.

3b)
0 Go to Home > Music > Albums [List] and note the layout
1 Navigate to Tools > Options > Collections Options > Music > Sub-nodes & Views tab > Albums > List
2 Set the first column for 'List' as 'Artist', and set a new sort order
--> Home > Music > Albums [List] doesn't update to the new settings!
3 Go to Home > Music > Albums [List] and click Manage views
--> The view settings aren't updated!

Because of change detection we've disabled views edit in collections edit.

Set as feedback so that @Rusty can confirm current behavior is acceptable.

Based on my test I have no issues with disabling of views edit in collections edit.

Yes--that was agreed upon.

Peke, just please do a sanity test on Views to make sure that:
- they're saving correctly after restart
- the various elements / columns / sort orders persist correctly
- that settings persist regardless of whether the changes are made 'live' in the view or via 'Manage views'
- that this holds true for various nodes/view combinations

Verified 2288

Sanity test done, no regressions found.

Note I primary tested using Clean installs and MM4->MM5 migrations with imported settings, so that persistent.json do not get corrupted over the several restarts.
