Summary0008770: Auto-sync list shows collections that aren't used
DescriptionIn MM 4.0.1, the auto-sync list displays collections even if they aren't enabled in the Tree. e.g. if Classical Music has no content, it won't show up in the tree, but it still displays in the auto-sync list.

What should happen is that the only Collections that display in the Sync list are those that display in the Main Tree. Except in the case of content that the user has already selected in the sync list (e.g. if the user selects Classical Music content in the Sync list, and then subsequently hides the Classical Music collection, then the Classical Music Collection should still display in the Sync list).

Fixed in build 1460.

Note that the same logic was applied in case of Burning and Media Sharing.

Verified in 1460, but I disagree. It actually is a good idea that users can create hidden Collections specifically for purposes like AutoSync and Media Sharing without having them clog down the Media Tree itself. Right now the user is forced to always show AutoSync and Media Sharing specific Collections.

I think that the current implementation (in 1460) is more consistent. e.g. for collection subnodes we also show only the visible/configured nodes like Artist, Album and we don't show Rating if it is not visible collection subnode.
In addition it really doesn't make too much sense to show Music Video collection if there is no Music Video in the library and the collection is empty.

Assigning to Rusty for a conclusion.

At least for Media Sharing it is good that hidden sub-nodes remain hidden as those are the Collections setting and ease UPnP navigation, but I have some UPnP specific Collections that will only clutter up the Media Tree.

I think that the current implementation makes more sense than previously.

BUT, I agree that it would be useful to add a new feature in the future to allow custom collections. Will add a new feature request.
