Looks like some of them really support MKV. It should be part of 1.50 DLNA standard.

This was already fixed and confirmed via the forum link http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=57854#p298425 that it works with Oppo BDP-93 and WDTV, but some users ( http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=62528 and Ticket OJW-169298) claim that it doesn't work with Samsung BDT 7800M - solving via the ticket http://www.mediamonkey.com/support/staff/index.php?_m=tickets&_a=viewticket&ticketid=15419

Interesting note from ticket Ticket ID: OJW-169298:

Hi Ludec,
I tried with tversity and it does not work. Also it does not mean mezzmo trans code anything. I played the same mkv files from a USB stick on the same pvr and it works fine. It tried mkv with ac3 sound and also dots.

I have seen a lot of people with different dlna server having the same problem. Mezzmo is really the only one that can do it without any transcoding.

If you want I could try a HD mkv you have tested on my system.

Shame otherwise because I really wanted to use media monkey for all my media.

PS I read something about compressed mkv header causing it . Don't know what it means but if helps.

BTW, based on this forum post: http://forums.tversity.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=57341 it looks that the trick could be just rename "video/x-matroska" to "video/x-mkv". I posted the user a new DLL so we will see.

The user confirmed that it works now (after rename "video/x-matroska" to "video/x-mkv").

Fixed in build 1471.

I hope it won't break the MKV functionality on the others clinets like Oppo BDP-93 and WDTV so we should contact the user here http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=57854&sid=80349684ff65c4de02c380ad39cd7d15&start=15#p298680 to test this for regressions.
