Another user reports MediaMonkey crashes in skinned version when being resized while IE9 beta is installed. User now confirms that MonkeyRok was cause of crashing.

Peke, please check out whether you can reproduce and if so, then what exactly in the script causes the problem - I'd hope that it wouldn't crash the whole MM.

I tested this and appears that MM gets stalled when ActiveX Window inside MM gets resized and IE9 is installed.

Note that I have Fast quad CPU which un-stall MM fast enough so that Windows do not show App lock/crash dialog. Also if you leave MM it return normal until you resize it again.

Tested on 3.2.3.1302 Debug log do not show much. will try further testing.

I'm working on additional log msgs with trixmoto regarding beter insight why it is happening.

IE9 is definitely the problem as after updating to latest Beta version I lost Auto Tag from web exactly like described in this bug. I'm not sure but it looks taht openning new IE ActiveX make problems.

Also same thing starting to happen occasionally using my RSS reader (NewzCrawker) in case opening multiple tabs.

Trixmoto also confirmed this.

After few hours that took me to remove all parts of IE9 beta all issues disappear.

What next?

It looks like an issue in IE, hopefully they'll fix it soon.

althru I didn't had any issues Trixmoto also noted that he had issues with Windows Scripting Host (WSH). I'll set it as resolved/suspended until IE9 final is out so that we can check this again.

According to feedback it still seems to be an issue, so it probably won't be fixed in IE. Ludek, can you try to debug what's going on?

Haven't tested, because IE9 is for Win7/Vista only and I am on XP now, but user here http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=53571#p275254 says that plugin MONKEYROK 5.4 causes the trouble.

Tested with MediaMonkey build 1355, Win 7, IE 9.0.8112.16421 and I haven't noticed any issues.

Selected an album -> Auto-tag from web -> album info shown -> resized the auto-tag dialog -> no issues at all

Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to have the MONKEYROK 5.4 installed in order to be alble to reproduce the issue?

Here a user reports that 1355 also works with IE9, but also not tested with MonkeyRok: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=291877#p291877

There is definitely error in IE9 HTML Renderer or at least it interferes with MM and we are not only app that it is affected due their changes.

I wonder if we can switch to for example http://code.google.com/p/thtmlviewer/ at least for Auto-Tag from Web.

I tested also with MonkeyRok 5.6, MM build 1357, Windows 7 Pro 32 bit, IE 9.0.8112.16421 and I have no issues at all.

Could you re-test whether it is still reproducable with the newest builds of MM/IE/MonkeyRok?

I'll reinstall IE9 again o my ultimate x64 maybe the problem is in x64. In case I can reproduce it I'll try to make Video of bug.

I can reproduce a crash every time I resize a MM window that is open to a webpage. This includes resizing the MM main window open to the Web node, resizing the main window with MonkeyRok enabled, or just opening the auto-tag from amazon window and resizing that window. (Edit: MM3 unskinned - no crash)

Win 7 64-bit
MM 3.2.5.1306
IE 9.0.8112.16421 (x64)

Debug log uploaded and attached. I didn't see much in it useful, but just in case...

Same setup in MM4 latest build - there is not a crash.

I can confirm Stephen tests, also it does not happen each time Mm is started Run as Administrator.

Since there doesn't seem to be any problem in MM 4.0, I'm setting it as resolved, it doesn't seem to make sense to try to search the problem source in MM 3.2.x.
