Summary0004861: Cosmetic improvements to Album Art views
DescriptionI'd suggest several improvements to how AA view presents data:

1. I don't like that Amazon shopping links are to the left from the text, mainly because when an album gets focus, the text has to shift to the right and when it loses focus, it shifts back to the left. It seems to me that the best solution would be to show these shortcuts to right from the text (right after it, not fully to the right).

2. iTunes shows the text centered, I'd say that it looks a little better this way.

3. All items are currently underlined, I'd say that it would look better if they are not. Maybe we could draw underlined only the item that's currently under mouse cursor?

4. This one would be just a nice bonus: in iTunes, when mouse is on Album Art, there appears a 'Play Album' button. Maybe we could do something like this, e.g. show our 'Play' icon there?

1. Sounds good (this would make the AA view consistent with the AA+Details view)
2. Sure
3. We should have a standard means of showing that an item is hyperlinked. Currently _underline_ is used, but I would be open to switching it to something else. I do think, though, that the style should be active all the time, since the user can click the hyperlink whether the track is selected or not.
4. So you're saying that clicking the 'Play' button would only play the selected Album even if default double-click action was 'Play All' ? I can see this as being useful...

3. I think that usage of underlined text in MM for hyperlinks in general is good, but problem is this particular view only, because there's _everything_ hyperlinked (i.e. Albuma and Album Artists in AA view). That's why I believe that my suggestion would make it a little nicer. However, it isn't big deal either way...

4. Maybe, I haven't thought about details yet, this is an option. I rather liked the effect in general and was wondering whether we could use it effeciently in MM. Anyway, it's just a small feature that we don't necessarily need...

Items 1&2 are fixed.

Also added new item to review :

5. in AA without details user can play album from first track, but can't play limited set of the tracks. In iTunes double clicking on album will open details for this album. We're using double click for play action so we can use some icon (for example placed on upper right corner of album image) and clicking on this image any popup window with album tracks could open. In this window then user can define track(s) to play. So user will not need to switch to another view and can play any track directly from albums view.

5. Probably isn't too important, just nice to have...

Assigning 3-5 to Rusty for a review.

3. I would leave as is OR allow skins to include the format for hyperlinks so that the skin designer can choose non-underlined fonts that would mesh well with the rest of the UI; that way we wouldn't need the underline hack.

4. I like the idea, though I'd say that it's not urgent.

5. I think that this is a good idea, but I would suggest the following implementation:
-If the user clicks an Album link in AA view, then MM shows the Album in the same manner as it would in AA+Details view, giving the user the ability to play individual tracks.
-In AA view, whenever a single Album is in the view, the Album is displayed with tracks (i.e. like in AA+Details). I'm not 100% confident that users would like this.

Thoughts?
