Ludek, please check out whether it's really so and in case it is, let's discuss over IM in more details.

User indicated:
iPod 3 Gen - works fine
Nano 3rd Gen - doesn't work
iPod Classic 6th Gen - doesn't work

From itunes (or multiple albums) = iPod/Music/Artists/Album/Tracks
From mm with single album = iPod/Music/Artists/Tracks
----------------------------------------------------------------

I tested my 2 iPod models,
synced one artist with a single album:

iPhone 3G (both iTunes and MM) = iPod/Music/Artist/Album/Tracks
iPod Nano 2G (both iTunes and MM) = iPod/Music/Artist/Tracks

and I have no issues with album art.

So it really seems that it is how iPod Nano 2G handles artists with single album (it skips the album level).

i.e. I don't see any issues or I cannot reproduce.

User confirmed, that it really works correctly in MM (i.e. the same way as in iTunes).
