Summary0004243: Renaming Composer nodes to "" causes equivalently named Artists to be deleted
DescriptionConfirmed user report:

Select a Composer (e.g. 'Various Artists') sub to the Composer node and rename it to ""
-->All entries of 'Various Artists' in Artist, Album Artist, Composer are blanked out!

This is completely unexpected--users only expect that only the composer attribute would be changed, and only for those tracks that are children of the selected node to be changed.

Jiri suggested that renaming Composer=John Lenon to 'John Lennon' should cause Artist/Album Artist/Lyricist = John Lenon to be renamed as well, however, this could have unintended side effects (e.g. if the user renamed Composer=John Lenon to Paul McCartney).

Updated fix description :

Now if user will change/delete composer, change is affected only for composer and artist will stay unchanged for Artist/Album Artist/Conductor.
Example of a track :

Artist : John Lenon
AA : John Lenon
Composer : John Lenon
Conductor : John Lenon

User will change Composer to "John Lennon" so Artist, Album Artist and Conductor will stay with "John Lenon" and only Composer will change to "John Lennon". So Artist/Album Artist, Composer and Conductor now works independently.
Works in same manner if user will delete any artist/composer/conductor (will be deleted only for specified artist role).
