Summary0004085: iPod: Tracks are synchronized to root folder sometimes
DescriptionThe issue is probably caused by the fact that if tracks are synced _without_ 'Force iTunes-like folders...' option, they are synced to root folder (as expected according to mask), but even if user turns the option on and runs auto-sync again, they remain in the root.

Although this isn't directly a bug and the issue can be fixed by deleting the tracks from iPod prior synchronization, it can probably cause a lot of troubles and so MM should always make sure that after auto-sync tracks are synced according to the actual settings.

MM3 somehow disables the iPod compatibility settings on my PC:

-MM 2.5 has both settings enabled
-MM 3.0 was installed as an upgrade to 2.5 and the iPod compatibility settings are NOT enabled on upgrade. Here's the exact steps I took:
 a) Installed 3.0 (no 3.0 DB/regsettings/ini/etc.)
 b) Registered Gold in 3.0
 c) Selected a device other than an iPod (via the toolbar) went through the settings and clicked 'ok'
 d) Selected the iPod, selected a couple of playlists, audiobooks.
 e) Reviewed the other settings
--> and found that iPod compatibility settings are disabled!!

Note: when I just deleted the DB/ini files of MM 3.0 and did an install of 3.0, the iPod compatibility settings _were_ enabled. It seems that this problem occurs on a machine with 2.5 with NO elements of 3.0 at all. Note also, I suspect that b/c/d are irrelevant to reproducing this.

 - Finally found and resolved also this issue (note that there was also another issue described originally in this Mantis entry).
