I wasn't able to reproduce it, assigning to Ludek to check it out. If he can't reproduce it either, hopefully the next build will better capture the freeze to a debug log.

Btw, I'd say that after sorting, the currently playing track should become visible in NP window, as it is e.g. after clicking Next button.

I cannot reproduce it too,
but the only that could cause MM to freeze at this point is 'Keep only X previous tracks' functionality.
Rusty, do you have enabled Auto-DJ and 'Automatically retain at most X previous tracks in Now Playing'?? (added more debug messages) or you are able to reproduce it without having the functionallity enabled?

I noticed that if I do your (the described) process with more than 2000 tracks (not only 300) then MM freezes for a while because removing of 2000 tracks from Now Playing takes this a little while (2-3 seconds?).

Tested in 1007 and I can't reproduce the problem.
