Summary | 0002451: iPod playcount or rating changes aren't sometimes reflected in MM
Description | As reported by a user, e.g. after a rebuild of iPod internal database synchronization of ratings and playcounts back from device to PC doesn't work anymore.

Fixed in build 963. - This wasn't exactly a bug because after device DB rebuild the link between track IDs was lost. However, it was possible to implement it as it is in d_WMDM.dll and so now it works well even after device DB rebuild. |

Tested in 2.5.3.952 with an iPod Mini and there seems to be a regression. When I play tracks on the iPod and synch to MediaMonkey, playcounts update, however, when I play tracks in MediaMonkey and then synch to the iPod, the play count on the iPod doesn't update. Note: Initial synchronization with the iPod works (i.e. playcounts are transferred--it's only when I synchronize tracks that aren't being transferred that updates fail). |

If I understand it correctly, it has nothing to do with this issue (that was correctly fixed). This has always been the case because tag don't change on playback and so MM doesn't know that it should re-synch the track (or its properties). This could be improved somehow, but since it isn't just a simple fix, I'd defer it to MM 3.0. |

As pointed out by Jiri, this issue has existed in previous builds. I'll describe it in a new bug. |
