Summary0002388: Default node at install should be Web node (Start Page)
DescriptionWhen the user installs MM, the default node should be the Web Node instead of the Startup node. If an internet connection exists, the web node should link to: http://welcome.mediamonkey.com

The welcome page will contain a variety of potentially useful content, and links to stores supported by MM.

Note: this page should appear with each re-install of MM

Was decided to be deferred past 2.5.2.

I'd like to suggest including this in 3.1.2. It'll give us the opportunity to suggest partners at startup.

Let me know what you think.

Petr, please try to implement this for MM 3.1.2.

Will be in 1267 (also just for Ventis build. Feel free to reopen this issue to add OEM welcome pages).

Petr, is it possible to avoid this behaviour if the user is offline?

Re-opening to update the linked url.

The format of the dynamically-generated start page urls is implemented exactly the same as for purchase urls (see #4663 ) i.e.:
http://www.mediamonkey.com/welcome.htm?l=en
http://www.mediamonkey.com/welcome.htm?l=fr

in other words, MM should dynamically link to an url based on the current language. The website will default to English in the event that the specified language is unavailable.

Reopen, this is done on each MM install while it should do that only on Clean install.

That's correct (see note in description).
