Summary | 0021641: Android Auto: Cannot access nested playlists synced via MMW
Description | MMW syncs nested playlists containing both tracks and child playlists to MMA, then Android Auto is unable to 'see' the child playlists. For example: 1 Sync a set of playlists from iTunes incorrectly scanned into MMW (see 0021639): Playlists > Imported Playlists > iTunes > - Playlist container (15 tracks) . - Playlist 1 (5 tracks) . - Playlist 2 (5 tracks) . - Playlist 3 (5 tracks) OR just sync a playlist structure along the following lines: Playlists - PlaylistContainerX . - Playlist 1 (5 tracks) . - Playlist 2 (5 tracks) . - Playlist 3 (5 tracks) . - Track 1 . - Track 2 . - Track 3 . - Track 4 . - Track 5 2 In Android Auto, attempt to navigate to Playlist 1 or Playlist 2 or Playlist 3 --> it's not possible! The tracks within the container playlist display, but the child playlists do not! Furthermore, because of bug 0021640, it's not possible to delete the tracks in the container playlist without causing the child playlists within the container to get deleted! The only workaround atm, is to delete the Tracks in the container playlists in MMW, and then resync so that the structure in MMA is: Playlists > Imported Playlists > iTunes > - Playlist container . - Playlist 1 (5 tracks) . - Playlist 2 (5 tracks) . - Playlist 3 (5 tracks) OR for the second case: Playlists - PlaylistContainerX . - Playlist 1 (5 tracks) . - Playlist 2 (5 tracks) . - Playlist 3 (5 tracks)

I am unable to replicate it. I have Playlist A with subplaylists AA, AB and AC I can browse these playlists via Android Auto. Also, each playlist has "Play all" and "Play all(shuffled)" actions. I tried all variants of the "Limit list size for external apps" option, and it works too. Tested with Pixel 6a Android 15. Can you verify again? |
