I'm a little confused about how Play all is supposed to work. For instance: 1) When using Play all on a given artist e.g. 1 Navigate to Music > Artists 2 Tap-hold ArtistName (3 Doors Down) --> Tracks play by album and then by track# (as I'd expect) 2) When using Play all on a given genre e.g. 1 Navigate to Music > Genres 2 Tap-hold Rock and 'Play now' --> Tracks play in alphabetic order I'm no longer sure what the best approach is here, since the approach here is inconsistent with 1) 3) When using Play all on a given rating e.g. 1 Navigate to Ratings 2 Tap-hold '4 stars' and 'Play now' --> tracks play in an indeterminate order (not alphabetic, not by Artist/Album--I'm not sure) ! 4) When using Play all on a given Year e.g. 1 Navigate to Year > 2000s 2 Tap-hold '2002' and 'Play now' --> tracks play in alphabetic order, but some tracks don't play! (i.e. 2002 contains 118 tracks, but when using 'Play now' in the manner described above, only 112 are added to the Playing list) So there are 2 issues here: 1) Play all sometimes excludes tracks 2) Play all sort order is inconsistent and for some nodes unclear. For this issue, we may want to take the approach used in MMW i.e. i) whenever using Play all for a node play the tracks in the order in which the tracks display when navigating to the tracks in the node ii) by default sort tracks in tracks lists by Artist > Album > Track #. If the user changes the sort order to 'Alphabetical' then the 'Play all' order would match that order We may want to defer fully fixing this until we fix sort/view customization. |
