Summary0019180: Context menu: Remove Volume leveling from Context menu
DescriptionWe should remove Volume leveling from Context menu and leave only Analyze Volume. We can leave it in Tools menu, but move it of context menu as it is easy to make mistake especially as you are novice user.

Almost any new players (software or hardware) support Replay gain index which makes fixing 0013411 a priority.

I also agree => 'Level Track Volume' removed from context menus in 5.0.4.2663

I am just actually surprised that manual action of "Level Track Volume" works only for MP3 files?

If user uses 'Convert Format' then the '[x] Level Track Volume' options is there and can be used for _any_ format.

EDIT: Maybe I understand, it's hard to detect the destination format from the source format without a risk of degrading audio quality significantly.
This makes me wonder whether the 'Level Track Volume' option shouldn't be removed altogether -- and users can always re-encode the tracks manually via 'Convert Format' > [x] Level Track Volume to a loseless format to be sure that quality isn't degraded?

Yeah we currently only implement 'MP3 Gain' for lossless volume leveling on MP3 (see 0017016). We _could_ add support for lossless leveling for other audio formats (e.g. using vorbisgain, etc.), but there hasn't been much demand.

The reason why it's ok to leave it in the conversion dialogs is because once the tracks are being converted the loss in fidelity is already being incurred and leveling the volume doesn't incur additional loss in fidelity.

Verified that the option has been removed from the Context menu in 2663.
