| Summary | 0018528: Auto-Refresh fails if AutoPlaylist is not limited to x files | ||||
| Description | If an AutoPlaylist is set to selected by Random track (auto-refresh) with Sort by set to Random it won't refresh the list unless Limit to is enabled. | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | 1 Create an AutoPlaylist 2 Set some Criteria 3 Set Select by to Random track (auto-refresh) 4 Set Sort by to Random 5 Use F5 to refresh --> List remains the same, instead of showing random new sorts 6 Enable limit to 50 files 7 Use F5 to refresh --> Each F5 a different list is presented | ||||

Yes, "Selected by" is activated only if the [x] Limit is checked, I think that the UI implies this correctly. Possible improvements: 1) Made "Selected by" greyed out (disabled) whenever the '[x] Limit by' is disabled 2) Add "Random (refresh-all)" variant to the "Sort by" option |

I agree with Ludek on this. without Limit set and criteria is set or not set on my 200k librray it woudl take forever to random create Auto-Playlist I also agree with Moving Refresh all in Sort by. |

The new solution can be confusing. You can set Selected to a Ctrl+F5 to refresh option while Sort by is set to auto-refresh. Observed was that the Auto-Playlist auto-refreshes when set like this. |

If either 'Sort' or 'Select by' is set to Auto-refresh, I think it makes sense that a refresh would apply to both. We could hide the string in cases where either is set to Auto-refresh, but that seems pretty low priority. The issues I noticed are that: - If the user changes the Refresh Playlist shortcut to CTRL+F10 then '(Ctrl+F5 to refresh)' continues to be displayed. The text should be dynamic (or it could just indicate '(refresh manually)' though most users wouldn't understand what this means. - Sort by 'Random' doesn't display the '(Ctrl-5 to refresh)' string (unlike Selected by: Random track). As far as I can see the string should apply to both cases. |
