Product Version1.3.8
Target Version1.3.8Fixed in Version1.3.8
Summary0016544: MediaMonkey Pro 1.1.008 error on Android 10
DescriptionUpon installing/running MMA Pro 1.1.008, it generates an error that it was build for earlier versions of Android and may therefore not work properly.... Even though it does work correctly.

We should fix this asap.
Additional InformationTest note:
In addition to MMA 1.3.7/1.3.8, this should also be tested with
- Build 1.3.5.872
- Build 1.1.3.554
Both of which are still 'shipping' for earlier versions of Android.
TagsNo tags attached.
Fixed in build17

Verified Pro 1.3.0015 against MMA 1.3.8.914 on Android 10, and and it seems to be upgrading MMA. However:
1) it doesn't provide an upgrade notification message (1.1.008 isn't providing it either, but I thought that a toast message is _supposed_ to appear)
2) the MediaMonkey Pro icon remains on the home screen after installing/running resulting in both an MMA and MMA pro icon on the screen (this issue doesn't occur with 1.1.008--it removes the duplicate icon after it runs).
3) this is probably a non-issue, but is it correct that the size of the apk is 1/5 of the previous version (53k vs 382/228 k) ?

Note:
- I tested both upgrade from MMA Pro 1.1.0008 and upgrade from MMA Standard.
- Peke raised an issue about the context menu not behaving correctly, but it's unclear what the issue is. i.e. I'm seeing that after upgrading to Pro, the 'Upgrade' option is removed from the context menu as would be expected.
- I tested by uninstalling MMA/MMA Pro and then sideloading both

With Android Q (API 29) Google changed the Launcher icon visibility behaviour. Even if you disable your Launcher Activity or completely remove the android.intent.category.LAUNCHER <intent-filter> from all your Activities, the app will appear in the launcher and open the Android OS app settings, with the exception of:

Packages that don't declare any permissions in their respective manifest files
System apps
Apps that don't contain any components inside their respective manifest's tag

re MMA Pro icon, finally, I was able to replicate it and I fixed it in 1.3.0017

Tested 117 and issue 2) (icon fails to delete) is resolved.

Issue 1) remains though (the congrats message still doesn't display).
Log ID: SP3F5826GL
Description: congrats message missing

btw, I also tried changing the Playback notification settings, then uninstalling MMA, then re-installing, in order to see if it's a cache problem. However, upon re-installing, the changed notification settings didn't persist.

Note I only tested on Android 10 (all tests via sideloading).

notification settings didn't persist, but besides "license_state" there also persists "upnp_server_name: MediaMonkey Library (DESKTOP-VP15ROD)" and this proves that your preferences are backup(not immediately but periodically I guess) because this preference was not set on a new installation(verified in Log) .
Don't you know whether you are using app backup provided by Google? Maybe this is the reason.
In my opinion, MMA Pro can be released because it solves all its issues.
About "congrats" dialog, this issue is on MMA side, but in fact, this is not the issue, because MMA informed you previously.
The remaining issue is what and how often backups your MMA preferences. If this has priority we can report a new issue for it.

In the link below there is described how enable Android backup service, I think you have already enabled it, can you confirm?

Verified 1017 it works on Android 6-9 both from Store and side loaded.

Re Rusty question: I have Backup Apps disabled.

Tested build 0017 with backup disabled and the 'congrats' message now appears.

Closing this issue since the Android 10 regression is fixed, and opening a new issue about the missing 'congrats' message when Backup is enabledd.
