Summary0016086: Albums are sometimes split for no obvious reason
DescriptionI've seen this bug previously, but upon attempting to figure out the cause of the bug by editing the tracks, I've eliminated it (i.e. the problem solved itself). The issue is that for some albums, the album displays as 2 separate albums (e.g. in the Artists view).

In this particular example, '...But Seriously' is split (One 'album' has track 6, and the other 'album' has all the other tracks) even though the Artist/Album Artist/Album/Year metadata are all identical. The 'Album Art' is different, but afaik that shouldn't cause the Album to split.

Note: I believe that metadata for these tracks was updated using Auto-tag (which was also the case for the other instance in which I'd observed this issue).

DB posted to ftp.
Additional InformationAside/test note: I believe that the reason that the Album Art is inconsistent between tracks is that Auto-tag found slightly different images for the tracks. However, because the album is split, Files to Edit > Inconsistent Artwork doesn't show these tracks.
TagsNo tags attached.

The attached database is old (from August), do you reproduce the problem with new DB, new scan, with some exact steps? The problem is in DB - there are really two different albums, with two IDs, so they are displayed correctly as two albums. The problem occurred at some point before, but it is very hard to find out now, when and whether the issue still exists. Please try to achieve this result with new DB and current release.

Ludek is right! One album has three dots (0x2E2E2E) and the second has one unicode character "horizontal ellipsis" (0x2026). So album names are different, so different albums.

Note that if it is auto-tag issue then it should be fixed in the auto-tag framework, otherwise just renaming the album via properties mass edit will narrow down the issue.

But most probably Rusty auto-tagged some of the album tracks in one round (getting different unicode chars) and then the rest of the tracks in another round?

I retested auto-tagging these tracks and upon doing so, all were tagged with the same album. So I suspect that Ludek is right--that the tracks may have been auto-tagged in different sessions.
