Summary0015762: Context Menu seems to remove items after drawn
DescriptionThis is a minor visual issue that is only visible very shortly. It seems a right click on a file draws the Context Menu with the Remove Rating shown, which then gets removed if not a right click on the Rating field. It would seem more elegant to first get which items should be displayed and then display the Context Menu with only those items.

At 0015451, Petr indicated that "for performance reasons some actions state (enable/disable, visible/hidden) are checked asynchronously ... it's problem just for slow computers and it's fine for medium PC's (tested on Surface Pro 2 with i5)"

Are you still seeing this in recent builds? How slow is the refresh? What machine are you testing with?

Yes, it still happens and the risk is that a fast users selects an item which then ends up being a different action.

This is on an AMD Ryzen 7 2700 with 16gb of ram. System isn't slow, but DB is large. It's hard to catch and not reproducible. It's fast enough that I couldn;t tell what changes in the menu.

I don't see this on my i3, but I do observe it on a Celeron-based machine, and it doesn't look great.

Petr, is there a reason why the main menu items can appear immediately? i.e. I understand why Submenus might need time to process (i.e. Send to and FMFS) by why can't the main items appear immeditaely?

It seems to be an item between Level Track Volume and Pin It, but it's too fast and inconsistent for me to be able to identify it.

The item that is initially show and then removed seems to be unpin it.

Verified 2274

I am unable to observe that behavior.

Pinning has moved to Send To and Context Menu seems stable on 2274
