Summary0015718: Shared Library: Using MM5 on multiple PCs
DescriptionIn MMW we Used DBNAME INI option to point to different path to MM.DB but when MM.DB is shared on UNC path and multiple PC accessing same Library Image Cache is not shared and other PCs can't use already created cache.

Solution to the problem is to install MMW as Portable on Network share as that way all PCs that start particular version use same files and paths.

Expected behavior is that even Library and its accompany files are shared, user should be capable to have own UI settings and MM5 layout on each PC (eg. res difference, one used for managing, others used for playback,...)

I would suggest that when it is enabled and MediaMonkey.exe path is either on Mapped drive or on UNC path UI is saved Locally in C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\MediaMonkey5. NOTE: If MM5 Portable is started from removable drive thei it will act as regular portable.

I guess that specifying custom DBPath in INI should still work in MM5. AFAIK Petr has already fixed it for MM5, so this might be just a regression?

Running MM.exe from the network location is not a good idea IMHO, it has a negative performance impact and I suspect issues when running simultaneously from more computers at once.

I tested and in my case MM5 loads faster over LAN than from Local HDD (excluding m.2 and SSD) only thing that should be considered on load times if WiFi is used on Wired it should work OK with +/- 5-10% slowdown.

Maybe we can think a way to cache (prefetch) installation files locally so that DLLs and main files are not loaded from network.

Also in case of multiple simultaneous PCs MM5 will observe same issue like MM4 and in such case usage of MMS is suggested.

User has issues with both running MM5 from network drive and specifying custom DB location:

Tested in 2183 and DBName works as expected (for portable and non-portable).
