Summary0014570: Voice commands no longer work for MediaMonkey as a default Music Service Provider
DescriptionAt some point in the rollout of Google Assistant, MediaMonkey voice control commands stopped allowing MediaMonkey to be the default music app. It appears that this is because MMA is not certified as a 'Music Provider' and only such providers can be set as the default music service.

MediaMonkey can still be used via voice commands, but only if the user specifies '...on MediaMonkey' for each command. Details at:
https://support.google.com/assistant/answer/7539710

Additional InformationMore about integration with the Google Assistant at https://developers.google.com/actions/
(though I haven't seen anything about how to become a 'Music Provider').

From what I've read, this integration isn't possible unless Google specifically enables it. There doesn't appear to be a process for applying to have it enabled other than by having users request the integration via:

Google App
Menu button > Send feedback

Re-tested in Android 12 and ATM, the way to make MMA become the default service provider is by setting the Assistant to have 'No default (music) provider'. With that configuration, the last-used media player is the service provider.

Android Auto on 8.1 and 9.0 do not work that way it shows msg "No music provider please install YouTube Music".
