I guess that it is all right.

In MM5 the fields are editable, so clicking lyrics allows to edit the lyrics.
We could toggle the mode when clicked into a non-text area, but not sure whether it is really desired for MM5? User can easily toggle it via the overflow menu.

What do you think?

I think that a click anywhere else than a hyperlink or editable text could work as a switch for Details visibility. Not a big deal either way though.

I guess it is problematic:

If user wants to click a text to edit it and (by accident) clicks several pixels out then the layout is switched!!
This seems quite unexpected. In MM4 user had to double-click the field to edit it in Properties dialog, but I think that single click for edit seems better.

I think that having the switch in the overflow is enough. If you don't think so then I guess that adding another button for the switch to the header could be a better choice than switching layout on a single click?

Lowering the priority as it is not a big deal now.

User confirmed button would be enough

Looks like too many buttons to me. I'd rather make it on a click and possibly not implement this feature for layouts that support editing (currently the Advanced Layout) to prevent problems mentioned by Ludek above.

When a video is playing, the Preview Windows displays the [full window] [full screen] icons in the upper-right corner. Perhaps it could display a generic view switcher icon (something like https://www.iconfinder.com/icons/2002844/grid_grid_view_group_layout_view_switch_icon ) at other times that would allow the user to toggle between Artwork only , Basic, Side by Side, Advanced ?

I like the ide with the view switcher in the header, moving target back to 5.1
