Summary0012984: USB Sync of playlists to Android device fails to display playlists in MMW (when MMA uninstalled)
DescriptionIf the user syncs a playlist to an Android device (tested with a Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 / kitkat that never had mma installed)
--> when browsing the device in MMW, playlists don't appear on the device!

Note that once MMA is installed on the device, playlists can be navigated from MMW as expected.

This is not a showstopper.

Steps To ReproduceDebug log explanation:
1 Run MMW
970 Plug in USB device for first time
1549 Disable internal profile (Sam-Tab84-Tablet)
3200 Configure sync profile to sync 'Test list'
3505 Initiate usb auto-sync
4734 Refresh tree / device
--> Playlists don't appear on the for the device
5004 Unplug the device
5092 Plugi the device back in
5710 Examine the device in the tree
--> Playlists still fail to appear

Tested 1771.
1 Synced several playlists and then opened the tree and resynced it
-->Playlists fail to appear
Debug log: line 1-2299

2 Unplugged USB and plugged it back in
-->playlists still fail to appear
Debug log: line 2307 - 2989

3 Installed and ran MMA, verified that playlists are synced, and re-initiated a scan of the device (F5) while MMA was running
--> MMW shows 'Scanning' perpetually!!
Debug log: 3029 - 4735

4 Unplug USB cable
--> MMW generates an AV (submitted with title "Bug 12984. MMW generates AV on disconnect of USB cable while scanning device indefinitely.")

5 Closed MMA and then plugged the cable back in
--> playlists appeared correctly

Note: Steps 3&4 should probably be tracked at 0012981 or 0012961 or at another bug altogether. Waiting for your feedback on this.

The M3U playlists are expected to be under Device -> Folders -> Playlists -> ...
as in case of devices with drive letter or MTP devices presenting the M3U/PLA as playlist files.

Re 3/4, it is just the MTP freeze again ( 0012961)

OK. Then it's resolved.
