Summary0011591: WiFi Sync may sync empty playlist
DescriptionIn MMA 199/MMW 1681 if I perform a WiFi Sync after a USB sync
--> a) existing playlist (Good Stuff) displays 2x the number of tracks (a, b, c, a, b, c)
--> b) All other playlists appear as 'empty', except for 1 (videolist2)

If I delete all of the playlists and try to sync them from scratch, then the results are the same!

As described at 0011552:0038710 , this was caused by a bug that somehow deleted the content of all playlists that were on the auto-sync list.

MMA 203/MMW 1681 experienced this issue, as described at 0011458:0038810 :

On JB/SG3, all playlists that are synced (to the external sd card) appear in MMA as 'Empty'! 3 playlists are: Jogging, PLF, Missing Metadata. Debug log ID: SF86X9LHSD

Note, however, that resyncing the playlists results in correctly synced playlists.

User at http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=73746&start=60#p379693 also reports that after rebooting the GS3, MMA playlists still appear empty. This makes me wonder if perhaps the problem I observed was the same as this user--which would mean that the problem isn't a sync issue at all, but rather something to do with how the playlists are stored.

According to log, these playlists are synced empty because they are empty in MMW. Assigning to Ludek to discover why they are empty.

That is strange:

1) Rusty indicated here 0011591:0038811 that resyncing the playlists results in correctly synced playlists. So it contradicts that they are empty in MMW

2) There has not been a change in this area on MMW side for at least half a year so this doesn't sound like a regression.

Rusty, if you still can replicate, please verify that the playlists are not empty in MMW and generate MMW log, thanks.

1) I don't mean that it was empty in MMW database but MMW publishes these playlists as empty during wifi sync. DIDL is empty. Btw. log doesn't contain the next, i.e. successful sync. I see only the one with empty playlists.

I revised the code on MMW side and haven't found a situation in which this could happen, hopefully the MMW log will show something.

1) The 3 playlists: Jogging, PLF, Missing Metadata are definitely _not_ empty in MMW.

2) I suppose it's not a regression then, but it is near-identical to the issue that occurred when this bug was originally raised. Alternatively, the root issue could be the bug that some users experience in which restarting a device --> playlists are empty (or conversely, those reports may be mistaken, and those users are observing this bug).

In any case, I haven't been able to replicate the bug (either by turning off the device, OR by syncing it) thus far. I'm continuing to try.

Unable to replicate in 204 either. Closing for now.

Although we still have one open issue that may or may not be related:
-deleting playlist content on restart as reported in the forum
