I have a Music folder (previously wifi synced) on the internal memory and a Video folder (previously USB syned) on the external memory that have a grey checkmark.

I can't modify the checkmark on these folders. Also the Music folder has a subfolder that shows unchecked.

a) Is the user not supposed to be able to deselect folders in Library?
b) Shouldn't subfolders of checked folders show checked?

a) greyed checkboxes are directories chosen in MMW, so it cannot be deselected. http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=10170#c36186

b) this was once agreed with Jiri. It is not necessary for now and simplest (current) implementation was chosen.

re. a) Since this seems to be confusing a fair number of users, would it make sense to add a toast message when the user attempts to disable a greyed out checkbox?

e.g. "This folder can't be disabled because it's configured for synced content."

I believe that a message would be helpful in this case.

re. b) users are unclear what it means when a parent directory is checked and only some of the children are. Would it make sense to visually disable the children of a checked directory

c) There are still reports of users being unable to select _unchecked_ folders:
- http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/posting.php?mode=reply&f=21&t=73591#pr374054 (inability to select a root folder)

Fixed in build 169

a) added toast with this information

b) By disabling childrens, it will be mixed with disabled folders from a).
I fixed it by disallowing browsing of checked folders. So only unchecked or partly checked folders can be browsed. I think it is clear now. I've added a toast message too.

c) I still think that it was related to a) because there is no reason for checkboxes to not work.

Verified 169. Re. b) I'd suggest getting rid of the toast since it's now self-explanator.

Alternatively, it can be simplified as follows, but I think it's better to just get rid of it:
Whole folder is included in library. Uncheck to select only specific subfolders.
-->
Uncheck to select only specific subfolders.

Also, I'm raising to 'immediate' since a user has indicated that this functionality is no longer working in 168 (I've not confirmed this):

User had checked whole storage and was unchecking it's subfolder. That is why it was still included in library. New implementation in build 171 will prevent it.

mcow confirmed that this is fixed in 171.
