| Summary | 0007850: AC3 playback fails silently without linking to codec | ||||
| Description | When the user attempts to play a video with AC3 audio (on Win 7), the video plays without any audio, and the user has no idea how to resolve the problem. Instead, the user should receive a warning/link with information about how to download the relevant codec as described in 0006493. | ||||

Fixed in build 1377. The problem was caused by Microsoft DTV-DVD Audio Decoder in Win7, it was connected and "decoding" AC3/DTS audio, but in fact it was giving only silent (it is some protection against using this decoder for decoding Dolby Digital content in nonMicrosoft applications). I forbade using this filter for AC3/DTS audio. |

Note that http://www.happymonkeying.com/plugin.php?q=300087 also work as AC3/DTS Decoder |
