Summary0002765: Linked Album Art sometimes disappears
DescriptionI'm able to reproduce a similar problem though I'm not certain that it's the same problem.

Here's my scenario: 1 laptop (local database), 1 server (containing multiple FLAC files by multiple artists).

When my laptop comes out of sleep mode and connects to the server, it takes a bit of time before it downloads the album art. Thus, if I click on Track x with linked art or any other tracks from that Album, nothing appears. However, if I wait a few more seconds and then click on Track y _from a different album_ (which triggers a refresh) then the linked art appears.

In some cases, it seems that even after the network link is re-established, the fact that I'd clicked the files before the Album Art was available caused the link to the album art to either disappear or stop working altogether.

In cases where the Album Art is contained within the Album Folder, this isn't a big deal since a rescan just adds it back. But in cases where the art is stored to a General Folder, attempting a rescan seems to lose the link permanently.

Uneducated guess: could this be related to caching gone awry? I say this because when the network is disconnected I notice that some linked images are cached (i.e. they appear even though they're inaccessible). The caching behaviour seems a bit random and I'm wondering whether in some cases, MM is caching temporarily absent album art.

Assigning to Rusty to find out more, possibly make a video capture showing the problem.

This problem is intermittent--I can no longer reproduce it!

Just uploade 'disappearing_album_art.zip' to the ftp server. It covers the following:

1) Rebooted machine
2) Ran debug version of MM
3) File Monitor Ran on startup (up to line 44000)
4) Search for Flac files
5) Click tracks from the 3 albums of flac files to verify that AA exists on 2 of them (linked/stored in Album Folder)
6) Selected tracks from Album 'Up to here' and Auto-tagged from amazon to get the Album Art (and only the album art). Chose to save the AA to 'common folder' (around line 44168) ---> Album Art displays correctly for the selected tracks and appears to save.
7) Start clicking various tracks from the 3 flac albums (around line 46400) --> Album Art from the initial 2 albums is still correctly linked but the newly linked Album Art disappears!!
8) Close MM end of log.

Afterwards, I restarted MM (the file monitor ran) and as expected, the album art from 'Up to here' was missing.

Fixed in build 1013. Should be merged to MM 2.5.5.
 - This should fix many complaints about lost album art, it was actually pretty easy to reproduce several way, e.g. set up File Monitor to a folder, link an album art to a track, modify track's tag in an external application - and the album art link was lost!
