Summary0002485: Autoconversion causes tracks to lose album Art in some cases
DescriptionI've confirmed that auto-conversion seems to lose Album Art. I tested in 2 ways:

1) MP3 track with Album Art in tag converted to VBR V6 --> Resultant track on the iPod no longer possesses Album Art! (this is rather strange since a plain conversion of the track using 'Convert' doesn't trigger a loss of Album Art)

2) MP3 track with Album Art linked to the track --> Resultant track doesn't contain Album Art in the tag. I'm not sure how this is _supposed_ to work i.e. either the album art is linked to the track on the device, OR the Album Art should be embedded in the tag.does the track get copied to the device. Without having an iPod Nano (yet :( ) I can't be certain that this is working or not.

As discussed over IM, this works fine both for iPods and WMDM devices (both tested). Images aren't stored in tags, because it's faster this way and also it isn't necessary. In the future it might change, because I can understand users might need it for some new/other devices.

This was recently re-confirmed to be an issue with Samsung YP-Z5 MTP devices.

At the very least, this should be a configurable option.

Fixed in build 1010.
 - Now tagged album art is always included in tags of auto-converted tracks.

However, in order to handle all possible synchronization scenarios I think there should be some options somewhere in Device configuration dialog:

[x] Remove album art from tags, if bigger than ___ kB
[ ] Add any album art to tags
[ ] Place any album art in track's folder on device

(all are checkboxes).

Reopenning because it wasn't included in MM 2.5.5 (SVN Revision 1735) although I think it should be. Also, the options I suggested above should be added in MM 3.0.

I agree that this would be a good candidate for 2.5.5.

Note that for 3.0, I think that the 'remove' option isn't really required, but that:
a) only 1 album art image should be copied per track (no devices that I know of support more than one)
b) the UI for location of the art should be the same as that used for tracks/cds (see bug 0001633). i.e. no need to use a different UI.

Verified that album art tags aren't removed by auto-conversion.
