Summary | 0002404: Compatibility issue with eMusic .m3u files
Description | .m3u files on eMusic don't play correctly in MediaMonkey as reported by users. Sample .m3u file sent by the user below is posted to the ftp server.
Additional Information | http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=38543 Reported by M. Cuttita: Hi, I use eMusic as my download service of choice (DRM free audio files!) and have a MM Gold lifetime license. eMusic has a feature that allows you to listen to a full album's sound samples to preview them. Relatively recently (~6 months?) I used to be able to click the "listen to all" link on an eMusic page (with MM set as the default program for opening .M3Us in Firefox) and be able to hear each of the sound samples in sequence in a continuous playlist. I think eMusic may have changed their delivery format for these sound samples (or something may have changed in MM) but now when I try to do this, the sound samples will show up in an MM playlist but will not play contiguously. That is to say - the first clip will play but then stop (and I have to manually click the next sound sample to play it and so on). This is really inconvenient for trying to preview eMusic samples via MM. I've seen a few posts on the forum about this problem but no one seems to have info re: a solution. I've attached an .M3U list (saved via MM) consisting of some Meat Beat Manifesto song samples from this eMusic MBM album page http://www.emusic.com/album/10900/10900450.html (specifically the playlist mounted by clicking the "Listen" link directly under the album title). If you know what the problem might be or have a workaround for this, I would really love to hear about it. Otherwise, I just wanted to give you a heads-up about the situation (in case you weren't already aware). Thanks very much for engineering the best audio jukebox/management system I've experienced to date! Best, Michael

Fixed in build 949. - This is fixed now, but there's a related problem - on my machine the playback stops few seconds earliers than it should. Using the provided URL the files should play 30 seconds, but they do only for 0000020:0000025. I spend _a_lot_ of time on this and it seems that there's something wrong in WM stream handling routines, I wasn't able to improve this. |

Fix to this issue probably caused some problems in playback, for example the one described here http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8896 (with gapless playback). |

Fixed in build 963. (Some issues in in_wmp3.dll were corrected). |
