| Summary | 0022497: MediaMonkey version info fools WinGet | ||||
| Description | As reported here: https://www.edtittel.com/blog/mediamonkey-version-info-fools-winget.html?utm_source=chatgpt.com and also ticket [Ticket # 18805] Update issue The problem is: Version information Value Windows registry DisplayVersion 2024 Winget available version 2024.2.2.3222 Result Winget repeatedly offers the same upgrade Even after a successful installation, winget may continue to report that an upgrade is available. Recommended fix for MediaMonkey developers Set the Inno Setup AppVersion to the full version number: AppVersion=2024.2.2.3222 And retain the friendly product name separately: AppVerName=MediaMonkey 2024 Check the generated uninstall registry entry to confirm that DisplayVersion contains the full version. This is worth fixing in MediaMonkey's installer, because it affects automatic updates through winget and other software-management tools. | ||||
