| Summary | 0022332: All options from the context menus should be available in the main menu, or at least in the related panel menus | ||||
| Description | I am not a big fan of options that are available only from the context menus, including Adjust Video / Zoom, Subtitles / Size and other options of the playing video. I think all such options should be also available at least from the related panel three dots menus (if not from the main menu), e.g. Adjust Video / Zoom could be added to the Preview menu. Many popular video players including VLC and PotPlayer have such options in the main menu. Many users usually set such options as permanent for all playing files, e.g. Aspect Ratio. There is also one reason why it would be preferred to have such options in the main menu. Let say that someone wants to create external program that will control MM by simulating key presses/mouse clicks, e.g. by using AutoHotkey. The options from the context menus would be almost impossible to simulate since the AutoHotkey script cannot know in advance the location of the video playing panel to simulate mouse right-click on it. Even options from the three dots menus like Tree menu or Preview menu would be harder to simulate with Autohotkey than the options from the main menu because giving a keyboard focus to the specific three dot menu would require the exact number of repeated key presses on the Tab key. But that number depends of the current layout of panels/toolbars. | ||||
