Besides no Grid (by Video) being available for custom Movies and Home Movies Collections, on 3516 for the TV collection it is still Album instead of Series based options. image-2.png (19,366 bytes) |

Verified on 3517 that it works. However wouldn't it be better to have a view as Type setting in the Collection settings so it doesn't rely on specific naming (which wouldn't work for foreign users)? |

But 'Type' is also determined based on a combination of extension and Genre?! i.e. if we introduced Type=Movie, then during a scan it would be categorized as Type=Movie based on: a) extension = mp4, mov, avi, etc. and b) Genre=Movie, Cinema... Or are you saying that we should use the same approach for Movies as we do for other file Types and that when we use this approach for other file types, the scanning already takes into account localized text for 'Movie', 'Cinema',... ? Or are you suggesting, as alluded to at #15491 that Type should also be determined based on directory (i.e. that MM's config should include a section that defines where different file Types are stored so that MM doesn't have to 'guess' ? |

I'd like to see Type = Movie, but this has always been denied, So, what's happening here, as Type = Movie is missing, if a Collection has tv, video or movie in the Collection Name it will be treated as a video type Collection, thus using the video type Views (ie. Grid by Videos instead of Grid by Albums). However foreign language users may use a local name like Peliculas in Spanish and thus the current solution won't work for them. |
