| Description | On a clean installation, after scanning a few thousand files: 1) Upon scrolling through Music > Artists [Grid] --> images appear (even though Options > Library > Metadata lookup > Background metadata lookup:Artist images is disabled). This is problematic because lookups are disabled, and if that's the case, then it results in all artists being substituted with whatever album art happens to be in the library! 2) After enabling Options > Library > Metadata lookup > Background metadata lookup:Artist images, and then scrolling through Music > Artists [Grid] --> images appear, but again they are almost always album art images! Note: This is a regression, but I'm not sure when it was introduced. | ||||

Fixed in build 3184. Now, if enabled, artist images are looked up instead of showing album-art collages (which block automatic searches). |

this sounds like it'll fix issue 1). i.e. if I'm understanding correctly: when the user enables Artist image lookup, images previously auto-generated from Album Art will in the Artist grid view will be replaced by Artist images. BUT, it sounds like issue 2) isn't fixed. i.e. currently, when lookups are enabled for Artist images, the lookups consist mainly of Album Art rather than Artist images! Or are you not seeing that problem? |

The fix for 0017031 caused MM to display an album-artwork collage for artists without an image (meaning a single artwork for artists with fewer than four album artworks). The grid then considered that an image existed and did not run the autosearch. After my fix, it no longer displays a collage if autosearch is enabled and instead waits for autosearch. So this should fix point 2. Point 1 is by design (issue 0017031). If the user enables artist-image lookups, it will stop displaying collages and start automatic lookups. |
