This works for me:
1 Type cat as contextual search in Music > All files [List view]
--> Contextual search results appear
2 Click the 'v' to open the combo box dropdown and click 'Advanced search'
--> Advanced search results appear
3 In the filter, change 'Any text contains _cat_' to 'Any text contains _dog_' and press ENTER
--> Search results update as expected and breadcrumb indicator updates as expected

Can you clarify what different steps you're taking?

re 0021813:0079846: in step 1. you use contextual search instead global search and in 3. you changed cat -> dog instead changing Any text -> Title while not touching cat

But that's not a bug!
i.e. if one changes the Attribute, the value _should_ automatically reset to "".
