ok,
so I guess that currently available hotkey
'Window: Toggle (MicroPlayer/ Full Window)'
should be replaced by new
'Window: Toggle (Tray/ Full Window)'
?

I would rather add new hotkey 'Window: Toggle (Tray/ Full Window)'.

Considering the Media Player controls in Windows 11 (by clicking the volume control), Is there a need for this in Windows 11+ ?

i.e. there's almost no functionality accessible from the MM Tray icon that isn't accessible via the Media Player controls or the AeroPeek controls.

This is especially needed for Win 11+ as it does not have micro player option where like Ludek pointed in https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=21392#c77784 'Window: Toggle (MicroPlayer/ Full Window)' have no meaning at all.

I was confused by the description which makes no mention of hotkeys.

And yes, a new Window: Toggle (Tray/Full Window) option makes sense assuming we can use existing strings.

Leaving to Ludek to triage this.

As for the existing strings, I see only these strings including "tray" :
"Open tray", "Always show tray icon", "Close to tray"

So probably:
'Window: Toggle (Close to tray/Full Window) '
could be used?

Added in 3169

Added also to the default hotkeys as Ctrl+Shift+T ,
note that the hotkey needs to be global so that restoring from the tray works..

Verified on 3169, however the chosen Hotkey seems unfortunate. When using it with a browser open it reopens closed tabs in the browser as well as toggling closed to tray status for MediaMonkey.

Ctrl+Shift+T also didn't work with the Task Manager being the active window.

EDIT @Peke: CTRL+ALT+T or WIN+ALT+T do not appear assigned (WIN+CTRL+T Hides TaskBar on WIn 10)

CTRL+ALT+T seems reasonable. Some may use it to open Windows terminal, but it's not a command that's globally enabled by default.
