| Summary | 0020971: Main panel is not resized well when changing size of skin | ||||
| Description | Take a List (by Album) as an example, as on the screenshots. Here is what should be resized: 1. width of the right side bar; 2. height of the Preview panel in left side bar; 3. height of Info panel; 4. width of all columns in the main filelist and Playing list including Artwork. All these things are set by program and cannot be done in skin. The 4-th one is most problematic because there are too many columns that should be resized manually after each changing of size. The issue is more noticeable when sizes are much different, for example when going from 12px to 24px or even 36px. You cannot see it with your skins when you change @baseFontSize from 13px to 15px, so I got the later screenshots with the modified info.json of Material Design, adding just this: , "24": "24px", "36": "36px" | ||||

It is much better now with resolved 1, 3 and 4, but the height of the Preview panel in the left side bar is not quite good after changing size, i.e. the height of Preview is smaller than it should be with the larger size of skin. The Lyrics panel is also not very well resized, but it is not such obvious. |

Steps to reproduce: unpack Material Design skin to the Portable / Skins folder, rename its folder to Material Design Size and replace the info.json file with the attached one. Then start the program, put the Preview panel in the left panel beneath the Tree, put the Lyrics panel to the right panel beneath the 'Playing', i.e. make them approximately equal as in the first screenshot, then choose 24px in the skin settings. In my example, the Tree panel and Preview panel with the Normal size in skin (12px) have approximately the same height, i.e. the Preview has a square shape with the Artwork filling it. Similarly, the Lyrics panel and 'Playing' panel have similar heights, i.e. both are square. After changing size to 24 px, the Tree panel and Preview panel should still have approximately the same height, i.e. they should be resized proportionally. The same thing should be with the Lyrics and 'Playing'. However, what we get is the Tree panel larger than Preview and 'Playing' larger than Lyrics. |

It is caused by the fact, that panels have some minimal sizes (to be able to display at least some data), and you have absurdly small window with large font. I can adjust the minimum sizes, but not sure, if having tiny panels where content is mostly not visible is better solution... But I will try to adjust them. |

I agree with you that panels should have minimal sizes, but the same logic should be applied equally to all panels. Why Preview panel could have smaller minimal size than Tree panel? Or Lyrics versus 'Playing'? |

Adjusted in build 3527. Panel sizes now allow even smaller height and try to keep the panel size ratios during font size change. Zvezdan: sum of panel min sizes was higher than size of the window, so the bottom panel did not have space where to display itself at least at minimal size, so was cropped. Now it allows smaller, I cannot do more. |
