Not sure if I understand the issue, maybe it was fixed already, Main panel (bottom) can hidden in Layout options too.

As far as can see, the Main panel (bottom) can accept only Player element. If I toggle off the Main panel (bottom), only the Player element will be hidden, but not the whole panel.

I suggest if an user toggle off the Main panel (bottom), that the whole List view should be hidden (or List (by Album) or Grid or whatever else is displayed on that panel). Of course, in that case it should not be called "Main panel (bottom)", but only "Main panel".

Main panel cannot be hidden, it displays the main view of the app.
Main panel (bottom) is placed under this main panel, can display player, and can be hidden.

Is there any technical reason why the main view cannot be hidden?

In my opinion, the current naming is confusing and misleading. Although, in my opinion, the whole system of toggling panel elements is not very intuitive (which I mentioned in another issue).

I guess no one has ever wanted to hide the main part of the application, where the content is displayed (for example, the content of a selected node from the MediaTree). For displaying only player there is Miniplayer mode.
Assigning to Rusty, but I think it is not feature anybody else ever wanted.

The Miniplayer mode is not too much flexible/configurable, it is not resizable, don't have direct access to the menu...

I really would like to have something like Winamp, just player, eventually with Now Playing and Artwork panels, without any additional tables/views.
