Summary | 0001981: Auto-Tag from Amazon: Unspecified error
Description | Over the past 2 days, I've received 2 separate reports of problems related to Auto-Tagging from Amazon. In both cases, the user simply selected a track, right-clicked on it, and selected Auto-Tag from Amazon --> 'Unspecified Error' dialog. I could not replicate this, but the fact that 2 users sent in debug logs means that there probably is a problem.

Apparently, the problem may be related to something that recent Windows Service packs do. Here's an e-mail from one of the users: No I did not change any of the options in the Amazon Dialog. I however found a solution to the problem.. The last couple of Windows updates which i downloaded caused all kinds of issues within my windows environment - Many P2P programs were unable to connect to the net, although browsing worked, and the box in general showed many signs of lag when opening even basic programs. I figured, after having worked though other possibilities, that all this had started happening after the updates were installed. I therefore uninstalled the last windows updates, and all the programs which showed signs of disfunction started working correctly again. This could be an issue for you though, as many people are using SP2 now, and have Automatic installation set for windows updates. I hope my case in an isolated case, maybe due to other software i have. For you information: my pc is virus and spyware free, so that is not the source of the problem. I hope the log will help you in seeing if this is an issue or not. In any case, your software rocks (literally) - I've stopped using other media players, and can't wait for new innovations in mediamonkey. |

fyi: one user claimed that uninstalling the following service packs resolved the problem: KB896423 KB896727 KB899588 KB893756 KB899591 KB899587 KB894391 KB898458 |

Fixed in build 895. - I made that showing of HTML control safer and so hopefully the error is fixed. I'd need some feedback abou this... |
|
There were some new reports that it still isn't ok. |

Fixed in build 897. - I still can't be sure it's fixed, but I added some new code that could improve the situation... |
