Summary0001903: Multiple iPod plugins sometimes appear
DescriptionThis happened to me with Alpha 3 as well, but I cannot reproduce the problem. Somehow, multiple iPod plugins appeared.

See: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4228

This may be a very serious problem, because this user also indicated that many of his tracks were deleted by MM when synching from his iPod to his library. See:
http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4335

I'll try to replicate this but wanted to raise the issue...

After further testing, it seems that the events described in 0001863 are somehow related to the problem of multiple plugins appearing. Specifically:

-A plugin appears for 'Rusty's iPod'
-A second plugin appears for 'RUSTY'S IPO'
-A third plugin can be made to appear for 'Rusty's iPod' if the user uses the 'iPod updater' that comes with their iPod to restore the iPod to its original factory condition (even if the user names it in iTunes to 'Rusty's iPod'

This is kind of dangerous because the user doesn't know which plugin/settings will be used. It's possible that the fix to bug 0001863 will solve this issue completely, but I'm not certain.

If the fix to 0001863 doesn't solve this completely, then it might be a good idea to add the possibility to delete a Plugin that is invalid or not required.

After further testing, I just found another reason to fix this: Each time the iPod is disconnected and then reconnected, it seems that it is random re. which device is connects as! (i.e. sometimes it connects as 'Rusty's iPod' with its settings, and other times it connects as 'RUSTY'S IPO' which has a completely different set of settings).

IGNORE THIS COMMENT -- I made a mistake--the behavior is not random.

Fixed in build 857.
 - The reason multiple devices appear is to support users with more iPods. If more instances appear for one iPod, it's either a bug (I don't think there's any in MM) or it happen after iPod is renamed.
 - I see a problem that there can many instances appear in Devices list, e.g. if you connect friend's iPod, there's a new entry forever. So I added a context menu, where Remove Device entry is enabled _only_ if given plug-in has more devices in the list and user can remove the device then.

Verified that extra devices can be deleted in 857.
