Hmm, maybe I spoken too soon, it must have been a test error and the thumbs are generated just fine for me after the second test.

Asked the user for sample files.

EDIT: Nevertheless majority of my files has just YouTube icon instead of thumbnail: https://www.dropbox.com/s/evp4u05cmpdprp7/screenshot%202021-01-24%2019.16.29.png?dl=0
But these aren't YouTube videos at all, so I don't understand from where the YT thumbnail comes from.

But this happens also in older MM5 builds, to be investigated further...

EDIT 2: OK, the YouTube thumbnails were saved as image directly in the file tags, so probably I just tested something in the past -- or it picked up the image from the files folder. If I deleted the YT image from tags and folder then the thumbnails were correctly generated and saved after re-scanning the folder.

Based on further info, user had a similar issue: An image in the video files folder (and video files tags) was presented thus MM5 did not auto-generate the thumb for the video(s) and picked up the image:
more at: https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=477394#p477394

The question is whether picking up artwork from the folder should have the precedence for video files?
But probably yes -- as it can be e.g. DVD cover to pick up (rather than generating thumbnail), so resolving as "no change required"

EDIT: Testing both MM4 and MM5 and if the file in the folder is called like folder.jpg then it is picked up as the assiciated arwork.
