Summary | 0013190: Detection of Changed Madia: Moved Missing tracks detection
Description | Often Users complain that they have duplicates due the moved tracks outside MMW to New HDD (and partition serial is changed) but with same File path on destination drive. MMW should check/predict that by do a simple check on first few scanned tracks from New HDD/UNC path. I think that Path+Filename, FileSize, File date and some/all metadata search with existing MMW library and tracks that are not accessible should not slow down MMW Scan too much at start, but MMW would be able to warn user that he is adding duplicate tracks and ask if he would rather initiate Locate Moved/Missing feature?

This is problematic, because it can be just backup drive of his audio/video on another drive.. Anyhow he can just re-assign the drive in 'Media Properties' before the scan or whenever he wants, but maybe the real issue is that the functionality of "re-assign" drive is quite hidden for users? So maybe really during the scans once MediaMonkey finds that there are duplicate paths on another drive then it could show message like: "Content being scanned from D:\ [SN2] seems same content as already included on E:\ [SN2], do you wish to merge D:\ [SN2] to E:\ [SN1] ?"
