Summary | 0007853: All sub-node for parent playlists, please
Description | Please add an All node (akin to that under Library) to each playlist that contain playlists, to select all descendent tracks. Perhaps make this conditional on an Option. This will overcome the lack of any way to select all tracks within a playlist containing child lists. Requested at http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=298008#p298008

Peke, this is not a duplicate. This is a suggestion for the tree UI, letting the user see all descendent tracks with one click. The other is a suggestion for an Auto-playlist criteria - requiring much more setup, but persisting. Please remove the duplicate status. |

With both requests end result is same, with exception that in case criteria Scrip developers would be able to use that playlist in their scripts. Also Auto-Dj will work,... Additionally I already have playlists named "All" so with your example there is no way to add Playlist by that name. Secondly: I have more than 2000 Playlists, over the years I have made all my DJ sessions with playlists with track order I played them. Imagine how muct time it would take MM to create All tree node for root playlist folder. Third: Like you said 0005418 is more persisting. I wonder why adding double feature without actual need and complicating things. |

> With both requests end result is same Untrue. Only this one lets the user see descendent tracks with one click. > Additionally I already have playlists named "All" so with your > example there is no way to add Playlist by that name. Untrue. I am not proposing an All node that prevents playlists of that name. And it should be distinguished by icon. > Secondly: I have more than 2000 Playlists, over the years I have made all my > DJ sessions with playlists with track order I played them. Imagine how muct > time it would take MM to create All tree node for root playlist folder. I imaging it would take exactly the same amount of time as the auto-playlist you're suggesting... minus the considerably longer time taken to set up that auto-playlist. And based on my test here of the auto-playlist of my DJ sessions over the last few years, it would take about 2 seconds. |
