Summary | 0020467: Album Art view issues with Playing node
Description | 1. The Album Art is not horizontally centered in the main panel. 2. It shows two vertical scrollbars. 3. It shows "Click to lookup lyrics". I am not using this option, but shouldn't it be used to lookup for album artwork in that view, since the Lyrics view already has such option? 4. It doesn't show artwork, but it is displayed in the List (by Album) view for the same file. However, sometimes the artwork is not even displayed in the List (by Album) view. The file is not added to the Library, if that matters.

1) I'm not seeing this. 2) Yeah, the vertical bar on the right that appears transiently, shouldn't appear at all since the window's contents have resized. 3) I'm not sure I understand. Are you suggesting that it should also have an option to lookup Artwork in cases that artwork is missing? 4) I can't replicate, but it's probably related to 0020477 |

1) Well, the screenshot is not faked, it was made with your program and you could see clearly from it that the album artwork is left aligned and it is not horizontally stretched to fill the width of the main panel, unlike the Lyrics view that has centered and horizontally stretched panel. I tried several different skins, they all have the same problem, so it is not skin related (it is Material Design on the screenshot). 3) When you click on the Playing node in the Tree, you get the Views toolbar menu with several options; the first one is Album Art that is on the first screenshot, and another one is Lyrics. The Lyrics view should have (and already have) Lookup option for lyrics. I don't see any point having lookup for lyrics in the Album Art view, unless MM5 displays lyrics on the same Album Art view with the artwork (which I could post as another suggestion in new issue). I don't have tracks with lyrics to check if that is the case, but I doubt that you have lyrics displayed next to the artwork in the Album Art view. If you want to have any lookup on the Album Art view, it should be a lookup for the artwork, not for the lyrics. It is not intuitive as it is now. 5) A new issue: the Album (Year) text is not centered. Oh yes, I forgot to tell that the artwork for the track on the screenshot is stored as Folder.jpg; it is not internal, if that matters. Now when I dropped other tracks from the same album to the Playing list, I don't even see the artwork in List (by Album) view anymore. |

I started to play with the Playing node and made these screenshots only after the playback was already stopped. Here is a new discovery by me: when I start playback, the artwork indeed appear in the whole main panel, but... 6) The problem is that the background image appears in the Album Art view of Playing node only if playback is started with that node already selected. 7) I just noticed that there is the "Background image" option in its context menu, which is nice to have, but not very intuitive to learn about it, and maybe you should add one new three dots menu button to the top-left corner of that whole panel, just like you have with Playing and Preview panels. Actually, my suggestion is that all options in the program that are currently available only in the context menus you also make them available in the regular menus that are easily observable and could be opened with the left mouse click. The right mouse click is not very best to use when having touch interface. But, that could be for one new independently reported issue. 8) I realized just now that there is a splitter on the right side of the left scrollbar, which is also not quite intuitive to learn about such ability since your skins have invisible splitters. 9) The really big CD icon above the Artist / Title / Album is completely unnecessary and consumes too much space; 10) The whole left semi-transparent part containing Artist / Title / Album info has too large minimal width. 11) That info panel covers the background artwork too much; maybe you could make it configurable similarly to the semi-transparent info panel in the Preview panel, with one "Artwork only" option to hide it completely. And 5) has a correction: The Album (Year) has centered only the first row of text, the remaining text is left aligned. Also state for the Title and I suppose for the Artist. Which is noticeable if that semi-transparent panel is narrow. |
