| Description | The UI contains a concept of a 'Music' node, but it's confusing because: a) it's hidden until either the user clicks a Music subnode or hamburger menu b) it can't be selected (only its subnodes can) c) it works differently than navigation of other MMA nodes (e.g. Classical, Podcasts) A simple fix would be to make the Music node behave like all others i.e. 1) Have a Music node in the Home view (it would replace Tracks / Artists & Album Artists / Genres) 2) Have the Music node appear in the Hamburger view (it would replace Tracks / Artists & Album / Genres 3) Change the behavior of Tabs so that the last used tab persists per node (e.g. if the last used Music tab was Artists, then opening Music would open in the Artists subnode) | ||||

All nodes work in the same ways but the default setting is a little bit different for "Music" because there are 3 visible subnodes (Tracks, Artists, Genres) by default. If there is more than one subnode visible as a root, then the group is divided into these nodes. If only one node is selected then this node is used as a default for this group. I agree to change default settings for "Music" to have only one node to be consistent with other groups(this will fix points 1&2). It's a little different approach than Jiri suggests, on the other hand, everyone can customize it by themselves in the Personalize screen. re 3) I have implemented it to the next build as cache (I mean the last used node is not persisted when the app is restarted) When the app is restarted then a default node is used(changeable in Personalize screen) Fixed in build 2.0.0.1013 |

I have difficult time to test/confirm this. a) If No music sub sections are selected (some disabled some set only to show as TAB) then Music Home group is omitted. Expected to have Music but last Tab focus is persistent. b) in order to have Music shown only one sub needs to be selected as Show on home. More logical would be in case single one is selected then have Music Button to be added to Home with Overlay of selected sub (Top Left) eg. Music With Genre overlay showing that Genre would be focused. NOTE it would be consistent as if multiple subs are selected to show on home then each one is added to home with Music overlay (top left). c) Only if all are disabled I would omit Music from showing on Home. |

AFAICS this is working correctly. i.e. the default config is designed for contemporary music, but the user can configure other nodes in the same manner. To answer your specific questions: a) As with other nodes, the Music node will only display if one of the subnodes is set to display at the top level. And I think it's fine that the last tab is persistent (it would be more confusing if tabs sometimes persist and sometimes don't). b) I see your point, but I also see benefits to the current approach. e.g. I like the fact that I see 'Audiobooks' rather than 'Albums' for audiobooks. Resolving as fixed since I don't think any additional changes are required. |
