Summary0006993: Support for external video players
DescriptionMediaMonkey should allow external video players such as VLC be used to play videos.

This is needed for cases where:
-codec support in MM is lacking
-subtitles need to be viewed

Suggested UI (to replace existing UI):

"Use External Players

[ ] Audio (Winamp): ______________________[browse]
[ ] Video: ___________________ [browse] "

Note: the 'set mini-player transparency' button can be removed. The option is accessible directly from the mini-player.

Note: For users who want to use the MM player, but want to occasionally (e.g. for subtitles) use an external player, it might also be useful to have a Context menu option to play video in an external player. e.g. Play with external player.

As discussed over IM, decreasing priority, since this hopefully won't ever really be needed. An Addon could be created for 'Open with...' functionality though.

Note: the priority may be upgraded, though, depending on complaints from users during the beta period re:
1) number of videos that can't be played in MM
2) inability to watch videos due to lack of subtitle support

2. VLC plugin that exist on Forum http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=46137 can be used till we manage to make subtitles.

Using such UI changes could be useful.

Don't Winamp also support Video Playback?

Setting as resolved, could be reopened in case it would really be needed.
