Summary	0009648: Start of playback is sometimes slow
Description	When starting playback e.g. from Genre>Hard Rock>Tracks, which contains hundreds of tracks, it can take several seconds before anything happens in the NP view. We should: 1. Optimize this process to make it much faster (some approaches discussed over Skype). 2. Don't show 'Artist', 'Album', etc. string even for a short while. We should show the correct Artist, Album and Title right away when NP view is started.

It's much improved, but it's still too slow. e.g. Click Playlist with 1000 tracks --> 4 seconds for the tracks to display Click the 1st track to initiate playback --> 3 seconds for the track to begin playing In contrast, the default google player completes both tasks < .5s. btw, we can open the playlist display issue as a new bug if it's a separate underlying issue.

rusty 2012-09-20 05:10 administrator ~0032072	Tested build 32 with playlist of 1000 tracks on Gingerbread: Click Playlist with 1000 tracks --> 4 seconds for the tracks to display Click the 1st track to initiate playback --> 3 seconds for the track to begin playing + 1 second to display Artwork In contrast, the Gingerbread music app accomplishes each of the above in < .5s on the same phone with the same playlist/tracks.
