Summary0007146: Miscellaneous WASAPI plug-in problems
DescriptionThere were several issues found in WASAPI output plug-in:

1. User reports that playback randomly stops.
2. Noise in 24-bit mode.
3. Failure in high-res audio modes (depends on sound card and selected mode).
4. Glitch on tagging the playing track.
5. Feature: Make output resolution dependent on input resolution in Exclusive mode.
6. Selecting different sound card in Configure dialog doesn't update list of output modes available.
7. 16-bit tracks don't play at all on some 24-bit outputs (conversion fails).
8. Some users report stuttering problems.
9. Supported formats don't include 20-bits formats.
10. No Default device selection, which would reflect the device selected in Windows.
11. Videos use default device instead of configured.

Fully fixed in build 1345, except for:
11. This _might_ be fixed in the future, but given significant differences in audio and video handling, it isn't clear whether it will ever be fully resolved.

Reminder sent to: michal

If I got things right there should be way to set renderer within Video, so if not WASAPI at least that correct DSound is used/set?

Re 11: I haven't saw any updates we were talking about over IM regarding that DirectShow Graph read WASAPI selection of Output Card and Use it in the graph itself, that should solve issue when Windows Default Device (Currently used when playing Video) is different than one selected in WASAPI. that should at least cover correct AV sync?

This topic is already pretty wide, please use another one if needed for WASAPI for Video. That said, it doesn't seem to be a priority for 4.0.
