Summary0005538: Rescan should remove DB-reference to non-existing linked Album Art
DescriptionIf you move, delete or rename an existing linked Album Art in an external application, e.g. explorer, and then rescan the Album to refresh what you have changed, the internal reference to the image in the Covers table is not removed. MM is still trying to display the image in all various views but fails since it doesn't exist. You need to remove it manually.

It would be nice and less confusing if MM could do this automatically upon a rescan.

As suggested in the forum, this should be triggered by the Remove Unused Attributes setting. When we implement, Tools > Options > Library option should be changed:

Remove unused Attributes (Artist, Album, Composer, ...)
-->
Remove unused Attributes (Artist, Album, Composer, Art, ...)

I really can't see any reason not to always remove these invalid references of non-existing linked album art upon a rescan. Especially since references of non-existing embedded album art is automatically removed.

Unused artist and albums can be useful to see in respective dropdown list but invalid references of album art doesn't fit into that category.

Shouldn't maintain Library already cover this?
