Summary | 0002445: WMA tags are not read for some files
Description | This was reported by a user, and it's true. I'm not sure why, but for the sample file (and he has many of them), the tags are read correctly by Winamp and WMP but not by MM (tested with 2.5.2.951). Note: the files were ripped with dbPowerAmp. I haven't verified whether all files ripped with this app fail in this manner. Sample file is posted to the ftp server.
Tags | No tags attached. | ||||

Are you sure that tags are read by WinAmp? I tried WinAmp, Helium, etc. and none could read tags at all. The WM interface that works with WMA tags returns an error and so I don't see _any_ way how to fix this. The only app I know that can read this file is WMP, probably because it handles WMA file format internally, without using shared WM methods. Also the file seems to be read-only for WMP, it can read its tag, but can't modify it. |

I just retested (using Winamp 5.13) and the tags are read correctly! |

Fixed in build 963 - Ok, I see, it didn't work in WinAmp 5.11, but works in later versions. - Problem was that the file has for some reason write-protected tag, no application can modify it, including WMP, WinAmp or MM. |
