Summary | 0001908: Audiobooks aren't categorized as 'AudioBooks' on the iPod
Description | The iPod mini has an 'Audiobooks' category (immediately sub to Music--the user doesn't have to go into Genre and then Audiobook), however, even if I have Genre's called 'Audiobook' or 'Audiobooks' or 'Audio Book' then don't appear in this folder on the iPod. Is there a distinct flag that needs to be set on a track (rather than just setting 'Audiobook' as the Genre) to indicate that it is an audiobook?

It isn't just a flag, the files has to have that .ab (or something like that) extension and must be encoded in AAC (renamed .mp3s don't work this way). I'd like to make it work, but I don't know how... edit: format is .m4b |

Do you mean to say that this can be done for Podcasts but not AudioBooks? |
|
Right, Podcasts are different. For Audiobooks we can set flag to remember their playback position, but in the current iPod firmware only tracks with the correct extension (i.e. from iTunes shop) can get into the Audiobooks menu. |
