Summary0012555: Artwork / ratings lost from media on external storage on some devices ( Xperia )
DescriptionThere have been a couple of reports recently of artwork and ratings being lost for tracks stored to an SD card after the device is turned off/on or re-install.

It seems to be device specific (I can't replicate).

1) after the device is turned off/on - I can't replicate it.
2) after MMA is re-installed - I can replicate it, because album arts are stored in Android\data\\files\artworks
- the storage is READWRITE_LIMITED, so it's normal.

I believe that the problems re. failed USB sync of ratings from MMA to MMW is a different issue. See 0012582.

I am able to reproduce on one device - Sony Xperia Z1 Compact. I am not able to USB sync at all. Tracks were copied to device but DB wasn't...i.e. all metadata from MMW is lost. Unfortunately I didn't have time to test it more (it was borrowed) and I don't have log from MMW.

I will have this device next week again. I will try to get some logs.

But generally it looks like the common issue with MTP again. I tried different drivers for Sony because I wasn't able to make it work with ADB. Finally I did it, but MMW started to freeze. I wasn't even able to see device details in tree...

I analyzed the log from BHJ-358-41675 and there is an issue with matching device profiles in this particular case, targeted as 4.1.7

Note: I'm not sure if this also covers cases such as: (failed USB sync)

(there are probably other issues with Xperia Zx).
